September 2018 ED visit following initial evaluation at my sister’s hometown 3 hours away. She had severe infection in her arm after surgical fixation and severe acute pain on top of her multiple chronic pain syndromes. Darren Boyack was appropriately kind to her, listened to us, took her personal 6 pages of complicated neurologic and endocrine history to READ — which she always traveled with for safety. He appropriately ordered IM morphine waiting for a PICC line. Treated her with dignity.
