Dr. Aria Fallah is a fellowship trained pediatric neurosurgeon who practices at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA. He is an assistant professor of surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He is board certified in neurosurgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. He is a thoughtful and meticulous surgeon currently focusing his skills on the surgical management of medically intractable epilepsy, brain tumors, hydrocephalus, intracranial arachnoid cysts, spinal dysraphism, craniofacial anomalies, vascular malformations and congenital malformations of the developing nervous system.

Dr. Aria Fallah is a graduate of the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University. He has trained at the neurosurgical residency program at the University of Toronto and completed his pediatric rotations at the prestigious Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. He earned a graduate degree in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at McMaster University under the tutelage of leaders in Evidence Based Medicine. Pursuing his passion in pediatrics, he trained at an accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Neurosurgery at Miami Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Fallah’s research interests are in Evidence Based Surgery, Clinical Trials, Observational Studies and MetaAnalyses as it relates to clinical and operative Pediatric Epilepsy Surgery. His current research projects include a multi-center, international study to generate and validate a prognostic tool in pediatric hemispherectomy (HOPS Study), comparative effectiveness and cost-effectiveness studies in Tuberous Sclerosis Complex in children with medically intractable epilepsy, as well as the development of advanced decision making tools that evaluate individual values and preferences to be incorporated in the pre-operative discussion for children that are being considered for pediatric epilepsy surgery. Dr. Fallah has written extensively, having authored or co-authored more than 50 peerreviewed publications. He has written book chapters and has presented at many international and national conferences.

Dr. Aria Fallah is dedicated to clinical care and teaching in developing nations. He has participated in volunteer trips providing pediatric neurosurgical care for hydrocephalus in Haiti. In addition, Dr. Fallah has been invited to help perform complex surgical procedures, such as a peri-insular hemispherotomy, on the youngest child in Chile.
