I'm a physician and I've had a constantly painful left foot for well over a year. I thought it was plantar fasciitis, did all the stretches but nothing helped. I saw Dr Mechrefe he talked with me, examined my foot, and he immediately concluded I had achilles tendinitis at a point where the fibers of the tendon splay and insert on the bone of the heel and plantar fascia. He performed a steroid injection into the inflamed area. While I realize this could potentially recur in the future, my foot three weeks later is now almost pain free (98% better) at this point and continuing to improve. Very happy I saw Dr. Mechrefe. Excellent doctor. Be prepared to wait and don't complain or be annoyed. You will often need to wait to see a good physician. It's worth it.
