I saw Dr. initially in October 1987 for possible cardiac problems. Her first comment was "I don't know whether I want you as a patient as you're overweight and you smoke". I offered a deal: "I'll stop smoking and drop 40 pounds if you'll promise to maintain your candor". FYI Anne, that was the last day I smoked and I've kept the weight off all these 34 years.
