Dr Takemoto saw me in late December at the HOAG ER in Newport Beach, CA. I was experiencing vision problems in my left eye. She quickly ran a series of tests and confirmed I had a detached retina and needed emergency surgery immediately. She left an urgent message to my ophthalmologist so he would be able to get me in asap the next morning to confirm her diagnosis and arrange immediate surgery. Dr Takemoto did not stop there. She made me realize the urgency that I get surgery immediately within the next 12-24 hours or risk going blind in my left eye. She let me know that she will be back in the ER the next day at 3pm and in the event I have not been scheduled for surgery to reattach my retina that I should come back to see her at 3pm and she would personally find a surgeon at HOAG to get me into surgery within hours. I was so impressed with Dr Takemoto, taking such an interest in a patient, going over & above what I could have ever expected. One year later I have my vision back!
