I had ECT treatments from 2016 to 2018. Early on, I liked Dr Seegan more than the other ECT doctors, so I arranged to always come in on her days. (The other guy, back then, always seemed “cold”; to me anyway.) She was very caring and attentive to how I was doing. I’d occasionally have sudden anxiety come on when the anesthesiologists were putting me under. But her bedside manner was great, and she could get me to calm down. I always felt *safe* with her in charge of things; and I quite literally trusted her to take good care of my brain. Even over the course of a couple years, she always remembered little details; like how I wanted to have the tape printout from the ECT machine. (She always saved it, folded it up, and tucked it in my shoe so it’d be there when I woke back up.) Ultimately, due to a discovery that changed my diagnosis, I stopped having ECT treatments. I was honestly kinda sad about that, in a way. Because Dr Seegan was the best.
