I am ever grateful to Dr. Alberto Carli and his remarkable team at Hospital for Special Surgery, from the moment I nervously crossed that threshold, I was embraced with exceptional care. HSS fosters an environment of respect, compassion and despite countless patients, a comforting sense that in those allotted moments, you are the only one. Dr. Carli’s keen expertise again and again confirmed I was in the best of care. He elucidated what was needed for both knees, he was forthcoming about what surgery as well as post-surgery entailed, and gently guided by gleaning my thoughts and expectations. We collectively arrived at our ultimate decision for surgery. All concerns were handled with sensitivity. While the road to recovery has at times been a bit arduous, Dr. Carli, his team, and the compassionate hospital care, including, but not limited to nurses, therapists and aides at HSS have put me on the path to fully healing, reacquainting me with hope and light for beautiful tomorrows.
