My local pulmonologist referred me to Dr. A James Mamary about October 2017 as I was having great difficulty breathing even though I was on Oxygen 24/7. After a complete and very detailed physical and a series of tests Dr Mamary discussed the Lung Transplant as the best option for me. I applied to be put on the waiting list for a transplant. On August 5th 2018 I got the call, went to the hospital and had the transplant The actual transplant was performed by Dr Chigimora, Other than the actual operation Dr Mamary been completely and totally responsible for my care for the past 2 1/2 years. There have been some bumps in the road but my recovery has been simply a miracle. I am able to live a completely normal life. Since the transplant I have not used oxygen at all. I go to the store,, play golf, do yard work and go to Planet Fitness 5 days a week. Not bad for a 79 year old, Dr Mamary has been wonderful through the entire process. HIs best attribute is that he listens.
