My family member was referred to Devon for her friendly approachability. Our loved one suffers from deep social anxiety which they cloak with addictions to alcohol and online fantasy relationships, where they can create new, confident personae. Devon is a miracle...the only therapist this emotionally vulnerable soul has been willing to talk to. The family is distressed and depressed to watch our loved one's descent into a delusional world but we are grateful that Devon will be there to help them heal when we know we cannot be there without destroying our own health. My one reservation is whether she has diagnosed my loved one's compulsive lying to shield themselves from shame and embarrassment. They use family and friends as an avatar for their own mental illness.
