I saw Brett as a teenager and greatly benefited from her patience and willingness to build trust. She was always helpful and practical while still being very warm and understanding. She truly became one of the few adults I trusted in a matter of weeks, to the point that she was the first "adult" I came out to years after my parents had rejected my sexuality, and I also appreciated that she was able to set clear understandings of what is and isn't healthy behavior without being pathologizing. I had overall positive experiences with other providers and staff at the facility as well.
