Saw Andrea in Kirkwood for therapy after a series shoulder surgeries over three years. Her talents as a therapist are excellent, but they are only part of what makes her work with patients very special. She connects beyond just the nuts and bolts of the movements and strengthening exercises; Andrea learns what makes each patient special, I guess you could say. Talking about their work, family, interests, music, taste in books, whatever, and uses this to relax and connect with each. I know this as a patient over maybe 45-50 hourlong visits. During each visit there are downtimes and time spent repeating movements while Andrea or any therapist works with other patients nearby. So I was able to see how she works with many other patients. Her abilities and knowledge of how to get the body to respond are enhanced by her wonderful friendly attitude, and an approach that is warm and delightfully funny at times. She is really special.
