My mom was diagnosed with extremely rare & aggressive cancer with a low survival rate. Praise God He moved her to WNC 7 yrs before, & praise God WNC has a leading gynecological oncologist like Dr. Vankerkwaak! Turns out he studied under the leading “expert” in my mom’s cancer, which lacks study because it is so rare. He is very knowledgeable. He moved quickly, did a phenomenal job in the surgery, then prescribed the right chemo and radiation treatment. Most other oncologists would not have known how to treat it. He was honest and said he had to give the odds- 20% chance of survival- but also said that odds don’t mean everything. He would do all he could, but it was ultimately up to God. Like everyone says, he does pray before surgery. 7 years later, my mom beat the odds and remains cancer free, despite the likelihood of it returning. Every time he sees her, he talks about how she survived, even though they put her through so much. I recommend him to anyone facing gynecological cancer.
