My wife & I were referred to Dr. Leavey after trying for years to find help for my son’s Porphyria and associated issues. Immediately and up front, Dr. Leavey explained that he is not an expert in the study of Porphyrias. However, he committed to helping us achieve a diagnosis and a treatment plan. Although neither my wife or I work in the medical field, we have performed substantial research to understand EPP, the specific porphyria afflicting my son. Dr. Leavey quickly worked with the Mayo Clinic to diagnose my son and in short order researched the Porphyrias. He has quickly and decisively educated himself in this very rare disease specifically to serve his only EPP client…, my son. He quickly surpassed our understanding of this disease. His commitment, dedication, and determination has absolutely blown us away. I unequivocally recommend Dr. Leavey for his specialty, and maybe…even outside his specialty.
