I highly recommend Dr. Joseph Ciampoli whose quick thinking and rapid action not only saved my toe from amputation but may even have prevented a bacterial infection from further cascading into sepsis. I woke up one morning last month with a purplish painful 4th left toe and went to the ER. Dr. Ciampoli realized it was a serious situation and diagnosed me with “Cellulitis”. He took me to the OR and cleaned out the infection. After 16 nights on antibiotics as an inpatient (6 in hospital followed by 10 in rehab) my toe is well on its way to reverting to its former self albeit with a slender inch long scar. In addition to Ciampoli’s superb care in an emergency situation, I observed Dr. Ciampoli’s respectful interactions with everyone: hospital staff, patients, and patient family members.
