Following a "love bite" on a leg that had had a joint replacement, I reluctantly sought medical advice - sepsis. Too many of my providers have a "God Complex" and have tried to coerce me into doing what they wanted, when they wanted, without listening to my concerns or what I had to say. Being raised to be a "good girl", I complied, often with very harmful outcomes. I am in a hospital bed following surgery and this doctor walks in. He is the epitome of professionalism, knowledge and compassion and I trust him. A real, honest to god doctor that can be trusted? Not in my experience. Well, he took darn good care of me. He listened to me, recognized my needs and why, and treated me accordingly. Best of all, he caused me no harm. I got out of the hospital, and will be on oral antibiotics for several months as a precaution, (my ortho says I am healed). Dr. J-L staff treats me like a real live human being, not a CPR doll. They clearly respect him, as do I. What can be better?
