Dana Marie Meyer Buxser has been my primary care physician for eight months. She’s a breath of fresh air. She’s very focused and manages time well to allow the patient to cover all issues within the time available. She’s also compassionate and sets limits on what she can address vs. what she needs to refer out for. For example, she made clear at the outset that orthopedic and related issues fall outside what she feels competent to address. To our initial meeting, I brought a series of get-to-know-you questions. I was very pleased with her willingness to answer and also how she answered; for example, what did you do between undergrad and med school? (answer: spent a year working with families in South America). Can you give me an example of your interactions with a doctor as patient? (answer: one doctor was on point, but a second was dismissive.) She promptly answers questions or responds to concerns via message. I feel like my health is again under reasonable control.
