Dr. Curry did a fantastic job helping to coach and guide me through the birthing of my baby. I went to Kaiser RWC specifically because of their midwife program, but when the time came, the midwife working that shift was not available so they had to find an OB right away. Lucky for me, it was Dr. Curry, who has the bedside manner if a midwife. She asked me how I wanted to position myself to give birth, which was a little hard to answer in the throes of labor and contractions, but it showed that she was honoring me taking the lead. She was empathic, supportive, and gave a great explanation of everything going on. She spoke in a soothing voice, confidently guiding me through each step and getting my partner involved. She respected all of my birth plan wishes and made sure to give the cord blood as much time as possible to finish pulsating before cutting the cord. My partner said she felt familiar - which I think illustrates the level of comfort we felt during our time with her.
