I had my RTKR done. After meeting Dr Jacobs in his office, his staff was very efficient in posting & preparing me & my husband. We came ready for surgery. Confident that he would deliver excellent care. That I would be watched over overnight in the hospital. This was the best case scenario for me. I have a few health concerns, overnight allowed me to be watched. I had need for nasal oxygen thru out the night to keep my O2 above 89%.An RN was there to monitor my Diabetes and my pain medications. I also was given an ON Q pain pump. The pump allowed me to participate in walking to the restroom. It also was a tremendous help when I went to therapy. I have 3 friends with recent TKRs that did not have ON Q. They each had a very difficult time for the first several days. The pump gave me a very positive experience at home as well. Dr Jacobs is an excellent physician. I have referred many of my family & friends to him. His attention to detail is invaluable as is his Compassion & Caring.
