The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund is a non-profit formed as a resource for families dealing with ovarian cancer, says HealthMaker Audra Moran. In this video, she explains how the group has raised over 50 million dollars for research.
The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund is a non-profit that was formed 20 years ago in New York City, and at the time it was established by a man whose wife was battling ovarian cancer, Ann Schreiber. The husband, Sol Schreiber, he was a lawyer here in Manhattan, and he realized that there really weren't a lot of resources for families that were going through this disease, and he felt strongly, as did his wife that he wanted to raise money for research, and so he formed the fund with a group of friends and a doctor that was treating his wife, and since then, it's gone on to raise over $50 million for ovarian cancer research.
