What to Eat for Healthier Hair

Read Transcript

Hi, Dr. Miller here. Are you looking for the secret to healthy hair? It comes down to what you eat. Load up on fruit. Brightly coloured fruits like peaches and strawberries are rich in Vitamin C which creates collagen and makes your hair strong. Drink green tea, snack on walnuts, or add salmon to your meals.

These foods are loaded with polyphenols and Omega 3s, they're good for your heart and brain, and they make your hair shiny. If you have dandruff, try rinsing with green tea. It can help to prevent dandruff causing fungus. To slow down hair loss, eat beans, whole grains, and other Vitamin B rich foods. B Vitamins supply blood and oxygen to your hair follicles which helps with hair growth.

Add dark green veggies like spinach, broccoli, or Swiss chard to your meals. They're loaded with Vitamins A and C which helps to produce C balm. That's your scalp oil, that's a natural hair conditioner. Finally, eat those avocados. Avocados and avocado oil keep your hair follicle healthy.
