Transcript
Robotic surgery has lots of benefits in the gynecologic world. Back, probably 10 years ago, 75% of women
who had hysterectomies in the United States had a big incision. Like a c-section type of incision. And as time has gone on, there's been all different types
of ways to do hysterectomies. But nothing has changed the percentage of the big abdominal incisions, except for Robotic Surgery.
Other benefits of robotic surgery is less time out of work. A woman who has a big incision to have a hysterectomy
usually needs four to six weeks out from work. A woman who has a robotic surgery is just usually four, maybe five, little small incisions
about width their finger. And they're able to go back to work in two weeks. So between making it minimally invasive
as well as patients getting back to-- to work sooner, there's many benefits to robotic surgery.
