At What Age Should Women Be Screened for Colorectal Cancer?
Beginning at age 50, women should be screened for colon cancer. In this video, Sharecare Advisory Board member Kevin Windom, MD explains his recommendations for colon cancer screening and rectal exams.

The CDC recommends that women, at an age of 50,
be screened for colon cancer by a colonoscopy. And they should be screened for colon cancer from 50 years old to 75 years old.
And they should have a colonoscopy, , probably every 10 years. I also recommend that patients have a yearly digital rectal exam, just
to check for any type of blood in their stool. If you have a family history, of a sister, brother, parent,
who's had colon cancer, then I always recommend you to have your first colonoscopy 10 years before that family member was
