Boost Your Fiber to Prevent Breast Cancer

Hey Dr. Oz here with today's smart health tip. Here's another reason to be sure you eat plenty your fiber. You probably already know the many of the benefits of fiber, from improving digestion to controlling your appetite. But now, you can add this to the list. Eating a high fiber diet can help reduce the risk of breast cancer, the most common type of cancer in women.

That's according to data from 10 large scale studies in which women that had high fiber diets were 11% less likely to develop breast cancer compared to the ladies who ate little fiber. How much do you need? Aim for 30 35 grams of fiber everyday. If you eat lots of fruits, vegetables and whole grains as well as beans you're well on your way, you start with this breakfast, a cup of oatmeal, a half a cup of raspberries, and an ounce of almonds.
