So lung cancer is a complicated disease. Very clearly, cigarette smoking can actually cause lung cancer, but most people don't realize it, if you are even in a home or in work place exposed to cigarette smoke, second hand smoke, that's also a problem. And so cigarette smoke can get on to your carpet, your clothing, all that is you don't have to be a smoker yourself.

You can just be around smokers and actually get that secondary side effect collateral damage. But besides smoking there are non-smoking types of lung cancer. In fact many women actually have lung cancer it's not associated with smoking at all, and we think actually due to genetics.

And we're beginning to actually find ways to probe the genes in your cells in your body to look for those genes that actually make you more susceptible to lung cancer.
