Hi I'm Dr. Vonda Wright with a simple pain relief tip. Whether you have pain back or arthritis or another form of chronic pain, there's a simple relaxation technique you can use its called mindfulness meditation. This practice eases pain by soothing stress, being mindful also keeps control of your alpha rhythms, or the brain waves that block distracting information. This means that a few minutes of mindfulness meditation each day can help you focus and tune out distractions including pain signals and fears about pain. So, let's give it a try, here's how to start.

Find a quiet place, get control and close your eyes. Breathe in and out at a natural pace. When other thoughts or feelings pop up, acknowledge them, and refocus your breathing. After about ten minutes open your eyes. This simple technique can do wonders for your pain, and can even help your memory.
