What Should I Look for When Buying a Fish Oil Supplement?

Fish oil supplements can be great. They have many different benefits, cardio vascular, that they reduce inflammation, many many benefits. However, when you buy them, you need to be careful, you are not looking for the amount of total fish oil, you're looking for amount of Omega 3's, EPA and DHA.

For general heart use, you want to find something that's going to provide at least 500 milligrams of EPA and DHA combined per day. For other uses you may want more than that. But, those are the things you need to focus in on. Problems that we find however, sometimes the products don't contain all the EPA, or DHA, or they maybe stale, basically they've gone bad.

Contamination fortunately is not as big an issue with this supplements as many people think, it's a bigger problem with actual fish.
