What Is Treatment-Resistant Depression?

Treatment-Resistant Depression, you know they're very strict guidlines unless required, but typically if you've failed at least three full trials of anti depressants and that it a sufficient dose, sufficient length, you are categorized as someone who is treatment resistant. So that's the official designation but in general terms it is somebody who is depressed and in whom several rounds of anti depressant have failed to restore them back to the real world.

They may have made them better but not certainly well. If they do meet the criteria for treatment which is an unfortunately 50 to 60% of patients do meet the criteria after the initial treatment.
