There are many things you can do if you get the flu. Things that will help you to reduce how severe it is as well as to help you recover more quickly. So for example, vitamins. High dose vitamin C will really kick up your immune system so that's excellent, 3-4,000 milligrams a day, you can take zinc, which also your immune cells need, and I would recommend about 30 milligrams a day.

Vitamin A is a great way to kick up your immune cells and I would even bump up to about 10,000 iu's of vitamin A retinyl palmitate everyday, it's a reknown antiviral. One great antiviral herb is olive leaf, and so you can take olive leaf extract everyday and that's really wonderful as an antiviral.

I also recommend whey Protein Powder, whey protein has immuno globulence in them and so they naturally will help you fight an illness whenever you take it, so make whey protein shake every morning for breakfast, two scoops of whey protein powder can really help boost your immune system.

Let's see, mushroom extracts really fire up those natural killers cells I mean all these things will help you fight the flu, and back to the whey protein, the nicest thing about making a smoothie is when you have the flu you really, sort of tired and not hungry, and so getting some nutrients into you everyday with the whey protein shake, you can add some fruit or some berries, will help you get some nourishment which is good as well.

And last but least is echinacea, elderberry or astragulus nice bundle of herbs that will really help stimulate your immune system. So all these things are wonderful ways to give you an immune boost which will help shorten the life of the flu as well as help you recover faster.
