After a diet slip-up, you have to pick yourself back up and move forward; it's about damage control and not allowing yourself to make it worse! Watch psychiatrist Sudeepta Varma, MD, give her tips for getting right back on track with your diet.
When people have had a slip-up they find that it's easier to give themselves permission to keep eating, right? So if their box has 10 cookies and have already had and five, I've already gone over my daily caloric allotment, so I'm going to go ahead and eat another five cookies. No absolutely not, that's not what you want to do, it's sort of like saying I fell down two stairs, now let me just throw myself down the other flight of stairs, right?
We don't do that, so it's about damage control. Damage control is really important, so even if you have a slip-up say I'm going to pick up tomorrow, tomorrow is a new day and I'll begin my healthy lifestyle choices at that point.
