There are plenty of healthy after-school snacks you can prepare for your kids -- like fruit or veggie kabobs. Watch this video for more healthy after-school snack ideas from registered dietitian Samantha Heller.
Healthy after school snacks for kids are actually easier than you think. You can make healthy whole grain mini muffins, you can have peanut butter, almond butter and celery, you can make fruit kebabs. Kids love dipping so you can have a yogurt dip for the fruit kebabs or even vegetable kebabs. I have little kids in my neighborhood when they come home from school they are snacking on vegetables like cut up peppers of different colors red, orange, yellow, cucumbers.
Sometimes you can put the in a low fat salad dressing. So healthy foods for kids, a little protein is great for them to come home too as well even a glass of fat free milk or soy milk.
