Milk has its benefits, but you don’t have to drink it to be healthy. In this video, registered dietitian Samantha Heller addresses milk’s now-controversial role in our (and our children’s) diets.
Is milk good for you? Well it is the subject of some controversy. There is a whole lot of people who believe that cow's milk is not healthy for humans, because it wasn't meant to be drunk by humans and then there's a whole other faction saying that milk is good for you because it has alot of protein and calcium and vitamin D and all kinds of other things.
If you like milk, if you don't have an allergy to milk or you're not lactose intolerant, low fat or fat free milk is fun and infact we have studies showing that kids growing up eating low fat milk or fat free milk are healthier and get more nutrition than kids who are maybe drinking soda or sugary beverages instead.
But if you don't want to be drinking milk, if you're concerned about that, try some soy milk. You can get the unflavored, you can get unsweetened, you can even get the vanilla about the same amount of protein as cow's milk, and then you get your protein and your milk too.
