Well here's a tip, when you're eating in a group, pace yourself with the slowest eater at the table, and it's OK to be the last one to begin eating. The problem with social and communal eating is that when you're eating in a group, you tend to keep up with the pace of everyone at the table, but spy out the slowest one and be the last one to start.
