Before you start drinking beet juice regularly, be mindful that the beets could turn your urine and poop red, due to the bright color of the beets. Watch naturopathic specialist Pina LoGiudice, ND, explain what to know before you drink beet juice.
What you should know before you start drinking beet juice regularly, is that it actually will give you something called beeturia. Which means it will turn your urine bright red or it can even turn your poop bright red. So most people think, oh my goodness! I'm excreting blood or I'm excreting blood through my bowels, but that's not the case, it is just that the colors of the beet will pass through the urine or your bowel.
So do be very mindful of that, okay wait I did have beets the other day. Also if you do have kidney stones or gall stones, it can increase your oxylate level so it can create more stones, so just be careful and mindful about how often you're having the beet juice, but still a wonderful thing to eat and drink.
