There are many herbal remedies that are wonderful for stress and anxiety. When I think about using remedies for stress and anxiety as a naturopathic physician, I like to know how the person is experiencing stress, so if it's showing up at night, sometimes I like to use things like Valerian or passion flower also known as passiflora.
If it's more a day time generalized anxiety, sometimes things like St John's wort can be extremely effective, also a lavender can be very effective for daytime anxiety, so really it depends on the kind of anxiety. Sometimes when people have very extreme anxiety for the short term something kava kava is very, very helpful and it has been used very safely for years.
So there are many many choices, it just really depends on the type of anxiety a person has but they're all fantastic.
