What Causes Muscle Spasms?

Read Transcript

Typically 80% of the people get muscle spasms, and what happens is it can come when your muscles and your spine are out of sync, whether it's stress, it's dehydration, or you've been sitting in a pro long posture for a period of time, and you go to transition and the muscles don't recoil or release like they should.

And one of the things I would try first is a foam roller. This is something you can buy at sporting goods stores for about 15 to 20 bucks. Get down on the floor, put it across your mid back, and just lift your buttocks and just roll your spine along. That's going to help relieve that tension along those long erector spiny muscles on the sides of your spine.
