You should have at least seven hours left to sleep, otherwise your body will feel the effect of it when it wakes up in the morning, especially if you get behind that steering wheel. The FTE has received over 700 reports of car accidents from people who've been on sleeping pills and that's recently moved them to reduce the dosage of these medications, particularly in women.

If you wake up in the middle of the night, this is a very tough situation, you want to get back to sleep because you may be having an important meeting or having to take care of the kids all day long or appearing on The Dr. Oz Show, but this is difficult. There are some newer medications that have a shorter half life that maybe appropriate, but do not start taking medications that you have at home without talking to your physician first, it could be dangerous.
