How to End Neck Pain

Read Transcript

I am Dr. Clark with a few tips to soothe a sore neck. Neck pain often comes from poor posture. Do you find your head pushing forward or your chin jutting out? Rounded shoulders are another sign of a poor posture. Poor posture weakens the muscles in the front of your neck and on the back of your shoulder blades.

It also makes your chest, upper shoulders, and neck area tight. Here's what you can do to correct it. First, maintain proper posture. Tuck in your chin keep your eyes straight, and keep your shoulders back and balanced. Next, stretch your chest muscles. Also, stretch the muscles of your neck. Do side and back of the neck stretches and hold each for 30 seconds.

Finally, strengthen your upper back muscle. You can do standing cable rows or a ball cobra exercise. Try to do 1-3 sets with 12-20 repetitions of each exercise. For more ways to build strong muscles and stay pain free, watch all of our tips right here.
