What you eat at the end of the day can have a dramatic effect on how you sleep at night. Watch as sleep specialist Michael Breus, PhD, explains how a food curfew can help you properly digest what you've eaten in time to get a great night's sleep.
Many people don't realize this, but what you eat at the end of the day can have a dramatic effect on how you sleep at night. Anything from spicy foods, heavy meals, even alcohol or caffeine can all have effects, that we really don't think are really all that great for sleep. So one of the things I tell people to do, is even if you are going to have some of these things make sure that you stop or close the kitchen, by about 7 PM, this gives your body the opportunity to digest these foods, to get them through your system so they don't have a big effect on your sleep.
