The nasal spray/inhaled form of the flu vaccine does not contain thimerosal, and it's as safe and effective as the single-dose, injectable vaccine. Watch functional medicine expert Mark Hyman, MD, discuss the benefits of the inhaled flu vaccine.
People have many options when it comes to the flu vaccine. They can get injectable vaccines or they can get nasal inhaled vaccines which are as effective. With the injectable vaccines the concern is only with the multi dose vial, so you can ask for the single dose vial, but the other option there is to ask for, the nasal spray, which has no thimerosal in it and is safe, and is as effective as the injectable flu vaccines.
So I recommend when you go to the doctor ask for the single dose vial, or the nasal inhaled flu vaccine.
