Cataract surgery involves a day surgery so you come in and go home the same day. We give you some general numbing medicine
through your IV to keep you nice and relax. And we also give you local numbing medicine for the eye itself. The procedure usually takes about 20 to 40 minutes
to perform. And patients can go home with either a shield or just a patch over that eye. We start some eye drops and typically see you in one day,
in one week, and in one month, where the eye's typically completely healed. The procedure itself involves very tiny instruments
that break down the cataract into small pieces and take them out. To replace that, we put in an implant
