Some of the common causes of memory loss for middle aged people include obstructed sleep apnea, insomnia, medications side effects and mild depression. People who snore at night and feel tired during the day, they may have sleep Apnea and they can't think clearly. If they fix their sleep apnea, their memory will improve.

Same goes with insomnia and same goes with treatment for depression, also people who exercise are more likely to have better memory.
