What Is Hysteroscopic Myomectomy?

Read Transcript

Hysteroscopic Myomectomy is an outpatient procedure in which we can remove a fibroid from the inside of the uterus without having to make an incision or without major surgery. The way it works is that we dialect the cervix a little bit and I slide a slender scope through he surface.

This is the scope that have the light and the camera on it so that I can actually see what is going on inside the uterus. If there is a vibrating inside the uterus, I can then take an instruments, pierce though the scope and cut the fiber wrap into tiny pieces and pull out through the cervix, this way a woman can get rid of her fibroid without having to have major surgery.

This is an outpatient procedure, it takes takes about an hour, and people can be back to their normal activities in the next.
