How Common Is Endometriosis?

Read Transcript

Endometriosis is a common promothera practice. It's hard to say who is usually the person who is going to get it, often times patients who have a first degree family member, a mother or sister has Endometriosis, they're more up to have Endometriosis. We used to think that people with abnormal uteruses, with fibroids, with heavy menstrual cycles we more up to have endometriosis and now that's been refuted.

Any person who is menstruating technically could have endometriosis, but science has not gotten there yet to figure out exactly why some people's endometriotic cells will grow in their pelvis, and some peoples endometriotic cells and not grow on the pelvis.
