There are a boatload of reasons why staying hydrated is so important. In this video, fitness expert and author Jorge Cruise lists the most important ones, and explains how you can keep your body well-hydrated.
Staying hydrated is critical because water is about 80% of our body weight, and it's part of all our muscles and tissues, it keeps us young, suppresses appetite and really helps us control overeating. As a lot of times when we over-eat it's not because we're hungry it's so much as we are thirsty, and we really don't drink enough water or we drink things that we think have water in them, but they actually dehydrate us.
So the trick is to drink at least 8 ounces of water as much as you can. What a lot of research says if you can drink that 8 to 16 ounces of water before a meal really will help crave appetite, will keep you hydrated, so you feel good, you have more energy, and you look and feel even younger.
