Sometimes women grow new fibroids after a uterine fibroid embolization (UFE) procedure, says John Lipman, MD, interventional radiologist. In this video, he says that it's not very common for women to need a second UFE, but it does happen on occasion.
[MUSIC] Well just long time friends him I've embolised women that I saw 15 years ago, you know actually grow brand new fibroids, and so we knocked out the ones ten years ago or 15 years ago but she's had enough time before menopause she actually grow some new fibroids, so that does happen occasionally, but that's very uncommon.
