Tranexamic acid is a good option in treating fibroid symptoms says John Lipman, MD, interventional radiologist and Sharecare Advisory Board member. In this video, he says this medication will help lighten the menstrual flow.
Trans-ezymic acid is a very good medicine, it's in the family of non-steroidals like Ibuprofen, but it has direct effect on the lining. And so that helps lighten the flow. And so that's a very common medicine that is used only during the heavy days of a woman's cycle. So, if she has two or three heavy days each month, it will only be for those days.
John Lipman, MD, is an internationally recognized expert in the treatment of uterine fibroids. He has given over 200 lectures on Women's Health topics at Harvard, Stanford, Vanderbilt and Yale Medical Centers.
