Many women incorrectly assume that heavier periods as they age is normal. However, In this video, John Lipman, MD, interventional radiologist, explains that if you're changing pads more frequently than every three hours, you should talk to a doctor.
It's very common for them to not realize they just feel like it's their new normal or I'm getting older, I'm over 40, maybe this is way it's supposed to be and it's not normal. If you are changing more that eight pads in a day or you're changing pads more frequently than every three hours, that's not normal.
Some of these women will change every hour, every 30 minutes, they may have accidents, they many double open pads, but again if it's more than eight pads a day or more frequently than every three hours that's not normal.
