Does Diet Affect the Risk of Fibroids?

So there has been a lot observational studies that have been done between diet and fibroids. They have not found a direct link between diet and fibroids, however they have found that there are some dietary modifications that can be taken to decrease the incidence of fibroids. When we talk about dietary modifications, we look at usually vitamin D levels which we want to increase, and an increase in your vitamin D levels will decrease the incidence of fibroids, as well as foods that have a high glycemic index.

When we talk about high glycemic index we're talking about foods that are your white starches, your white flour, your white sugars, and your sugary drinks. Those usually are high glycemic index foods, and the reason why that is, is because when we eat these foods there's a increase in our blood sugar, there's a spike in our blood sugar, and your body actually releases hormones to take care of those blood sugar spikes, and in that the hormones that are released, may be a cause of causing those fibroids to grow.
