Repetitive or intrusive thoughts are really problematic and usually a sign that there's some sort of anxiety happening
or some big thing that's going on causing stress. So is it always a sign of a mental disorder? It's hard to say.
But for many people, if it's an ongoing thing, it is important to get some help. It can be the sign of an anxiety disorder.
For some people, it can be the sign of some sort of psychotic disorder. For people who have substance abuse disorders, it can actually be related to the urge to use drugs.
