Being overweight is the number one risk factor for a man having low testosterone levels. In this video, urologist Harry Fisch, MD, explains why the bigger a man's belly is, the lower his testosterone level is, and how it may also cause "man boobs."
You know being overweight is the number one risk factor for having low testosterone level. Why would that be? Well, I say the bigger the belly, the lower the testosterone level. Let me repeat, the bigger the belly, the lower the testosterone level. Why? Because the belly fat acts like a sponge.
It's the worse fat to have. So if a man makes testosterone, it's broken down in the fat cells to guess what? Estrogens. That's why men have more estrogen, less testosterone when they're overweight. That's why they have a big belly and that's why they may have man boobs.
